On December 18th 2009 after a long week of finals and working 50 plus hours of work, I was on my way home from hanging out with some friends. Unfortunately I didn’t make it home that night because I feel asleep driving and hit a guardrail head on. 60 feet of guardrail went through the bottom of my right leg. After someone finally stopped to see if I needed help, I was rushed to HCMC where they spent the next 7 days trying to save my leg. On December 25th it was decided that my injuries were too serious to keep my leg and that it would need to be amputated. While I was in the hospital I had the pleasure of being able to met Rob and Aaron from WYT. Through them I started to have a better understanding of what was going to be taking place. After 49 days in the hospital and 17 surgeries I was released. One of the first things I did when I got out was attend a WYT event. I became a member because I think that the support received through this group is like no other! There are many wonderful people that have come together to help others who need it too! :) Thanks WYT
