WYT Adaptive Sports Expo. Shakopee, MN. Amputee Focused.

FreeJoin us for fun filled afternoon while discovering the latest in adaptive sports and equipment. This event will be held at the beautiful Quarry Lake Park, where you can enjoy the scenic views while learning about how to stay active and engaged – as a participant or spectator.
Demo a fitness prosthetic, participate in the mobility clinic, watch adaptive wake surfing from the shoreline, bike on paved trails or hit up the xcel energy mountain bike single track trail, play lawn games, or just come and check it out!!! It’s all at one venue, Sunday June 16th from 12:00pm -5:30pm at Quarry Park in Shakopee MN.
Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or new to adaptive sports, there’s something for everyone at our sports expo. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to connect with others in the adaptive community. Make sure to sign up below and we will see you there!
Amputee Focused – This is an adaptive sports expo open to all but please understand that Wiggle Your Toes is a local non-profit that specializes in limb loss and limb difference. This expo is geared towards amputees wanting to get active, try new sports, demo fitness prosthetics, and get connected with the adaptive sports community.
Register to Reserve your Spot – It is recommended for participants to register for the activities in which they would like to participate. All adaptive participants must complete a waiver before participating.
Check-In & Lunch: Activities and clinics will start around 1PM. If you have everything you need to participate and won’t be demoing any equipment please arrive and check in by 12:30PM. If you are demoing equipment please arrive as early as 11:30AM to allow us plenty of time to get you check in and fitted. Lunch will be provided free of charge via a local food truck.

Prosthetic Demos & Fittings: We will have sport specific prosthesis for participants to try from Otto Bock running blades to BioDapt Moto Knee & Versa Foot. This is a first come first serve basis and it is limited to the number of prosthesis we have available.

- 1:00 – 2:30 PM Group 1 Demo Period. Return to Demo Tent by 2:30 PM
- 3:00 – 4:00 PM Group 2 Fitting
- 4:00 – 5:30 PM Group 2 Demo Period. Return to Demo Tent by 5:30 PM
Adaptive Sports Schedule: Throughout the afternoon you will have the opportunity to try out a variety of sports and jump from one activity to another. Think of this as an open clinic where you can try an activity for as little or as long as you would like. We will have plenty of coaches and volunteers that will be happy to work with you throughout the day. The time frames below are when we plan to have focused demonstrations and group gatherings but the mobility clinic and adaptive bike clinic will take place throughout the course of the clinic. Feel free to jump in or out at any point.
Mobility Clinic – Focused Time Demonstrations
- 1:00 – 2:00 PM Stretch, Get Active, Light Jog & Run
- 4:00 – 5:00 PM Stretch, Light Job, Fun Games & Contests
Bike Clinic – Focused Time Demonstrations
- 1:00 – 2:30 PM Intro to Biking, Basic Skills, Team Rides based on Skill Level
- 4:00 – 5:30 PM Intro to Mountain Biking, Basic Skills, Single Track Team Rides
Wakesurfing Clinic – Due to a limited number of boats the wake surf clinic will be an invite only event. However all event goers will be able to watch the wakesurfing from the shorelines and also via Facebook Live! This will be a great opportunity to highlight some of the area’s best adaptive wake surfers!
We encourage all adaptive athletes, friends and family to come out to Quarry Lake Park to check out all of the exciting activities! This event has fun for the whole family! We will also have several information tents set up highlighting local adaptive sports and organizations.
Quarry Lake Park is very accessible and has plenty of parking. It is mostly flat, wheelchair friendly, and has new wheelchair accessible bathrooms.
